blocked drains Melbourne

Drain backing up? Call 0425 702 994. Available 24/7.

A blocked drain is usually one of three things: something that shouldn't be in the pipe (wipes, fat, hair), tree roots getting in through a joint, or a pipe that has cracked or shifted. We work out which one before we clear it, so the fix lasts.

Signs your drain is blocked

  • Water draining slowly from sinks, showers or baths

  • Gurgling from plugholes or floor wastes

  • Toilet not flushing properly or rising when flushed

  • Sewage smell inside or around the house

  • Water or waste coming up through the overflow relief gully outside

  • The same drain blocking again every few months

What we clear

  • Blocked toilets

  • Kitchen and bathroom sinks

  • Showers, baths and floor wastes

  • Laundry drains

  • Main sewer lines from the house to the boundary

How we fix it

  1. Find the cause. We ask what's been happening, check the access points, and put a CCTV camera down the line if the cause isn't obvious.

  2. Clear it properly. High-pressure jetting for fat, silt and debris; a root cutter for tree roots.

  3. Check it's clear. Run water through and, where needed, the camera again.

  4. Tell you straight. If the pipe is cracked or collapsed and will keep blocking, we show you the footage and explain your options.

Why drains block in Melbourne homes

Many homes built before the 1970s still have their original clay sewer pipes, laid in short sections. The joints between sections are where tree roots get in and where ground movement opens gaps. Newer homes with PVC pipes block far less often from roots. For them it's usually wipes, fat and grease.
