blocked stormwater drains MELBOURNE

Water pooling or gutters overflowing? Call 0425 702 994.

Stormwater drains carry rain from your roof, driveway and yard to the street or council drain. When they block, water has nowhere to go. It backs up at downpipes, floods pits and can sit against the house. Left alone, that can cause damp and damage near foundations.

Signs your stormwater drain is blocked

  • Gutters or downpipes overflowing in rain

  • Pits and grates filling and not emptying

  • Water pooling against walls, under the house or across paths

  • Soggy ground or a smell of stagnant water along the pipe line

  • Water bubbling up out of the ground in heavy rain

What causes it

  • Leaves, silt and garden debris washed off roofs and paving

  • Tree roots in the pipe

  • Pipes crushed or dislodged by building work, vehicles or ground movement

  • Old pipes with poor fall that let silt settle

How we fix it

  1. Locate the blockage. Check downpipes, pits and outlets, and use a CCTV camera to find where the line is blocked or broken.

  2. Clear the line. High-pressure jetting flushes silt and debris; root cutting for root intrusion.

  3. Flow test. Run water through to confirm it's discharging properly.

  4. Show you the problem. If the pipe is damaged, you get the footage and a clear explanation.
